What Cut-off Trends Look Like Post-2024
- 2024 saw inflated scores due to the controversy; expect 2025 and 2026 to normalise
- General category cut-off for MBBS in govt colleges typically: 650+ marks safer, 600+ borderline
- OBC/SC/ST cut-offs significantly lower per category
- Top private medical colleges (Manipal, KMC, JIPMER) need 600+ too
- BDS, BAMS, BHMS thresholds well below MBBS — a real backup, not a fallback
What to Do on Result Day
- Download official scorecard from NTA — don’t share screenshots forwarded on WhatsApp
- Note your All-India rank AND category rank — both matter for counselling
- Calculate where you stand vs last year’s closing rank at colleges of interest
- Don’t decide MBBS-vs-other-medical immediately — wait for counselling round 1
- Talk to coaching counsellor before making panicky decisions
If Your Score Is Lower Than Expected
- BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSc Nursing are all legitimate medical paths
- Many students take a serious drop year and crack it next time
- The drop year can be done from Sikar with the right structure (we host many)
- Don’t make career-ending decisions in the first 72 hours after result
